Allow Organizers to Set a Player Confirmation Deadline
When organizing casual football matches, one of the biggest challenges is knowing who is actually coming. Players often join a game early in the week but don't always update their status if their plans change. As the match gets closer, organizers are left messaging people individually, guessing whether they need more players, or scrambling to find replacements at the last minute.
Our team uses Footy Addicts while organizing casual football matches and coordinating activities for our entertainment marketplace Wowzers, and this situation comes up regularly. It becomes difficult to plan balanced teams or decide whether a game can go ahead when several participants haven't confirmed their attendance close to kickoff.
It would be helpful if organizers could set a confirmation deadline for each event. Players who joined the game would receive an automatic reminder before that deadline and simply confirm that they still intend to play. Anyone who doesn't respond by the chosen time could be marked as "pending" instead of fully confirmed, giving organizers a much clearer picture of the actual player count without having to contact everyone manually.
This would make match planning more predictable while keeping the process simple for players. It would also reduce last-minute uncertainty and help organizers react earlier if additional players are needed.
Expected Benefit
A confirmation deadline would give organizers a more reliable attendance list, reduce manual follow-ups, and make it easier to organize well-balanced matches with fewer last-minute surprises.
