Footy Addicts Equality & Inclusion Policy

1. Introduction

Footy Addicts is committed to promoting equality, inclusion, and diversity across its platform and ensuring that all users are treated fairly, respectfully, and without discrimination. This policy reflects our core values and outlines how Footy Addicts supports equal treatment and accessible opportunities for everyone accessing or using our services — wherever they come from or who they are.

This policy applies to:

  • All users of the Footy Addicts platform — including game organisers and players.

  • All interactions and transactions facilitated through Footy Addicts.

2. Our Commitment

Footy Addicts believes that:

  • Everyone should have equal access to information about, and participation in, football-related games and activities listed on the platform.

  • Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and dignity in all communications and experiences on our platform.

  • Discrimination and harassment in any form are unacceptable and contrary to the values of Footy Addicts.

We are committed to:

  • Promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in everything we do.

  • Rejecting and not tolerating discrimination, harassment, bullying, or victimisation — whether online or offline — based on protected characteristics such as:

    • Age

    • Gender (including gender identity / reassignment)

    • Sexual orientation

    • Race, ethnicity, nationality or colour

    • Religion or belief

    • Disability or any other status protected by applicable laws.

3. Scope & Platform Limitations

3.1 Footy Addicts’ Role

Footy Addicts is a technology platform that provides tools for:

  • Game organisers to create, manage, and promote their football matches.

  • Players to discover and join games that best fit their preferences and needs.

Footy Addicts does not manage or deliver football games itself. The actual organisation and conduct of games are controlled by individual organisers.

3.2 Organiser Decision-Making

Game organisers retain the right to refuse or remove participants from their games if they reasonably believe:

  • A player is not a good fit for the group;

  • A player’s behaviour may harm the safety or enjoyment of others;

  • Participation could compromise the organiser’s compliance with platform guidelines.

These decisions by organisers do not necessarily reflect discrimination on unlawful grounds — they may be legitimate judgements about group dynamics or safety.

Footy Addicts does not have direct authority to override legitimate organiser decisions unless they violate these equality principles or platform guidelines.

4. Expectations of Conduct

4.1 For All Users

All users must:

  • Treat others with respect and fairness.

  • Avoid behaviour that could reasonably be interpreted as discriminatory, harassing, or abusive.

  • Follow Footy Addicts’ User Guidelines and Terms of Service.

4.2 Host / Game Organiser Responsibilities

Organisers should:

  • Make reasonable efforts to apply selection criteria fairly.

  • Not discriminate against individuals on the basis of protected characteristics.

  • Use clear, objective, and non-discriminatory language in listing and communicating about games.

Organisers whose actions are found to be discriminatory may be reviewed and subject to platform actions, including warning or removal.

5. Reporting & Enforcement

5.1 Reporting Potential Violations

Users who believe they have experienced discrimination or unfair treatment by:

  • The platform;

  • Another user;

  • A game organiser;

may report the issue to Footy Addicts through the reporting feature or by contacting our support team.

Footy Addicts will:

  • Investigate reports promptly and fairly.

  • Take appropriate action where a violation of this policy or the platform’s Terms of Service is confirmed.

5.2 Platform Actions

Possible actions include:

  • Warnings to users.

  • Temporary or permanent removal of organiser accounts that repeatedly or seriously violate this policy.

  • Restrictions on platform access for offending users.

Serious misconduct (e.g. fraud, hate speech, threats) will be escalated for appropriate action, including reporting to relevant authorities where required.

6. Review & Updates

This policy will be:

  • Reviewed regularly to ensure it remains relevant and effective.

  • Updated as needed to align with legal requirements or changes in how Footy Addicts operates.
