🔒 Private Games

Private Games allow organisers to control who can join their games while still managing attendance through Footy Addicts. Unlike public games, players cannot simply join a Private Game without first being granted access.

Are Private Games visible to everyone?

Yes.

Private Games are visible to the Footy Addicts community, but players cannot join unless they have been invited or granted access by the organiser.

How can a player join a Private Game?

There are four ways to gain access to a Private Game:

1. Receive an Invitation from the Organiser

If you Follow the Game Organiser, the organiser can send you an invitation directly.

Once invited, you will be able to join the game if spots are available.

2. Request an Invitation

If you are not invited, you can visit the game page and click "Request Invitation".

The organiser will receive your request and can decide whether to approve it.

If approved, you will be granted access to join the game.

3. Use a 1-Click Join Link

Organisers can generate a 1-Click Join Link from the game page by selecting Share.

Anyone who receives this link can access the game directly.

The 1-Click Join Link bypasses the invitation request process, making it the quickest way for organisers to invite players from WhatsApp groups, social media, or other communities.

4. Become a Star Follower

Organisers can mark selected followers as Star Followers.

Star Followers automatically have access to join the organiser's Private Games without needing an invitation each time.

This is useful for regular players who frequently attend the organiser's games.

Important: Access Does Not Reserve a Spot

Being invited to a Private Game does not automatically add you to the attendance list.

An invitation simply grants you permission to join the game.

To secure a spot, you must still complete the normal join process and appear on the attendance list.

If the game becomes full before you join, you may miss out on a place.

How do I invite players?

To manage invitations:

1. Open the game page

2. Select Game Settings

3. Select Invite Players

You will see:

• Players who follow you

• Players who have requested an invitation

Select the players you wish to grant access to and click "Send Invitation".

How do I approve invitation requests?

When a player clicks "Request Invitation", their request appears in the Invite Players section.

Simply select the player and click "Send Invitation" to approve their request.

How do I create a 1-Click Join Link?

1. Open the game page

2. Click Share

3. Copy the 1-Click Join Link

4. Share it with your players

Anyone with the link can access the game directly without needing to request an invitation.

How do I manage Star Followers?

You can manage your followers from:

Account → Following & Followers

From there, you can mark selected followers as Star Followers.

Star Followers automatically gain access to your future Private Games and do not need individual invitations.

Why use Private Games?

Private Games are ideal if you want to:

• Play only with players you know

• Build a regular football group

• Control who joins your sessions

• Manage attendance through Footy Addicts while inviting players from your own community

Private Games give organisers full control over access while keeping attendance lists accurate and up to date. ✅
